December 2023: Ramblings from the Road
I hope you have had a great 2023! 2023 has had its challenges for all of us. Let’s recap what happened in 2023.
I moved into the position of executive director formally in March. Since then, we have had several improvements to the association.
We onboarded a new Association Management Software (AMS) and launched the integrated website
on September 1. The AMS includes many upgrades. The website has a secure member portal where you can have your company members record SEO, event registration, what’s happening in the industry calendar, products, PAC donations, secure invoicing, and history of purchases, etc.
The annual golf tournament was a huge success. We had a full tournament — we were limited to the number of golf carts the course had — and all sponsors were in attendance. Dinner was fantastic because we all sat down and enjoyed the final moments of our very nice day together.
Advocacy efforts have been under way since May, and it appears that we will have consensus for our bill draft just before the printing of this magazine. This effort will continue in 2024.
PHCC-WA saw Jason Pritchard elected as Vice President of National PHCC in Cleveland, Ohio at PHCCCONNECT2023 with a unanimous vote. Congratulations Jason! We are proud of you.
We increased membership by about 80%. This includes Contractor, Associate, and Affiliate members. We intend to carry this effort forward into 2024 with a focus on recruitment.
We injected some new energy into our Membership Committee.
We restructured the committee into 5 subcommittees, each with a different focus on membership, and have been progressing along nicely. Thank you to all who serve on this crucial committee. A special thanks to Aaron Fell of Premier Water Removal for stepping up and into the chair of the Membership Committee.
As we approach the end of 2023, I want to thank each one of you for your continued commitment to the association. You are not an island with PHCC-WA; you are part of a community of businesses that care about you and your business. When the waters rise, we all rise together with it. Don’t be an island!
With utmost respect,
Todd Allred,
Executive Director
